when a person dies, how is saying, " he has moved on to his final abode"

when a person dies, how is saying, " he has moved on to his final abode"

Imām Ibn ʿUthaymīn – may Allāh have mercy on him – says:

And here, we point out something that we hear from the people or read in some of the writings, [which is that] when a person dies, they say: he has moved on to his final abode.

This is a huge blunder, and had we not known the intention of the one who says this, we would have said that he denies the resurrection. This is because if the grave is his [the dead person's] final abode, then this constitutes denying the resurrection.

Hence, this issue is extremely dangerous. But some people don’t think for themselves, and if a person says something, they take it without thinking about what it means.
