How SHIRK ERADICATES GOOD DEEDS

SHIRK ERADICATES GOOD DEEDS

ALLĀH said;

وَلَوْ أَشْرَكُواْ لَحَبِطَ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَعْمَلُونَ
But if they had associated others with ALLĀH, all their deeds would have been wasted.

This magnifies the serious danger of Shirk and the gravity of committing it.

In another Ayah, ALLĀH said;

وَلَقَدْ أُوْحِىَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ لَيِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ
And indeed it has been revealed to you, as it was to those (ALLAH'S Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with ALLĀH, surely your deeds will be in vain." (39:65)

{Tafsi‌r Ibn Kathīr}

Abdullāh ibn Mas’ud (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of ALLĀH ﷺ said, “Whoever dies while associating anything with ALLĀH will enter Hellfire.”

Ibn Mas’ud said, “Whoever dies without associating anything with ALLĀH will enter Paradise.”

The Islamic Stand on Superstition: Avoiding Fortune-Tellers, Soothsayers, Astrologers, and Magicians

  • Beware of the Dangers of Superstition: The Islamic Perspective

﷽

EPISODE 3️⃣: FORTUNE-TELLERS, SOOTHSAYERS, ASTROLOGERS AND MAGICIANS
➖➖➖

Seeking magicians, fortune tellers and soothsayers is a grave deed that is taken too lightly and is seen as a normal and common occurrence. It's a shame that Shaytaan has successfully led us away from the straight path while we keep making it easy for him to place obstacles in our paths.

A Muslim is not permitted to visit Soothsayers and fortune-tellers (i.e those who claim to have the knowledge of the unseen and the future). The worst are those who consult magicians, who in turn, use the help of the devils by the means of black magic, to harm a servant of Allāh (ﷻ).

Safiyya reported from some of the wives of Allāh's Apostle (رضي الله عنهم) , Allāh's Apostle (ﷺ) having said:
"He who visits a diviner ('Arraf) and asks him about anything, his prayers extending to forty nights will not be accepted."

(Sahih Muslim 2230)

The fortune-tellers receive inspiration from the devils among the Jinn, regardless of whether they perceive that or not.

On the authority of Aishah (رضي الله عنها) :
" Some people asked Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ) about the fore-tellers He said. 'They are nothing" They said, 'O Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ)! Sometimes they tell us of a thing which turns out to be true." Allaah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A Jinn snatches that true word and pours it into the ear of his friend (the fore-teller) (as one puts something into a bottle), the foreteller then mixes with that word one hundred lies."

(Sahih al-Bukhari 5762)

This authentic narration clearly explains how the fortune-tellers receive their information, and why it is vague and mostly untrue.

However, most people in their naivety remember the one true statement in a hundred lies, and they develop a dangerous dependency on the soothsayers, who in turn, extract money from their clients. It is not uncommon in these times to see soothsayers ascribing themselves to Islam and displaying outward piety. They take advantage of unsuspecting Muslims who do not know the seriousness and dangers of this affair.

Therefore, a Muslim is required to know the Islamic belief and also know what opposes it. It is obligatory to adhere to the guidance of the Prophet (ﷺ) in staying away from those affairs that contradict one's faith in Allāh (ﷻ), the Majestic and Most High. No one knows the unseen or the future except Allāh (ﷻ) , just as He commanded His Prophet (ﷺ) to proclaim. Allāh (ﷻ) says:

Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allāh or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Then will you not give thought?"

(Al-An'am 6:50)

Fortune-tellers, sorcerers and soothsayers seek the help of the devils from amongst the Jinn to achieve their goals, and that is disbelief.

So avoid these people and their methods. Trust in Allāh (ﷻ) and seek His aid, and seek refuge with Him alone, and you will find your salvation and a way out of your difficulties.

May Allāh (ﷻ) make us steadfast on the straight path.

Superstitions in Islam: Understanding the Detriments to Our Deen

The Perils of Superstition: Recognizing the Harmful Impact on Our Deen

﷽

EPISODE 4️⃣: DETRIMENTS OF SUPERSTITIONS TO OUR DEEN
➖➖➖

Many ahaadeeth were reported from the Prophet (ﷺ) in which he forbade pessimism and superstitious belief in evil omens.

In one of the narrations, He (ﷺ) said: “Tiyarah (superstitious belief in omens) is shirk.”

(Al-Tirmidhi 1614).

Superstitious belief in omens is shirk in itself and the things it leads to. A person who believes in superstitions automatically denounces his tawakkul in Allaah (ﷻ).
He may take to wearing amulets, using charms or performing certain actions which he believes can bring him benefit and ward harm off him, and that is haraam.

The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) was heard saying: “Ruqyah (spells), amulets and love charms are shirk.”

(Abu Dawood 3883, classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood)

Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said:

"Whoever puts his trust in Allaah (ﷻ) and does not believe in omens and superstition, that does not affect him. They said: this is indicated by the hadeeth of Anas, ‘A bad omen only affects the one who believes in it.’ If a person believes in bad omens, Allaah may make that the cause of bad things happening to him, just as He may make trust in Him and making Him alone the focus of one's fear and hope one of the main causes of warding off evil that people may superstitiously expect."

If a person opens the door to superstition, the world will become a hard place for him and he will imagine that everything is a bad omen. This may lead to anxiety which strips people of their peace of mind and prevents them from focusing on their worship and daily activities.

The superstitious person attracts evil to himself, so the superstition affects him more, because he did not protect himself with belief in Allaah (ﷻ) alone and trust in Allaah (ﷻ). These are matters well known from real life. Everyone inevitably feels superstitious but the strong believer wards off those superstitious feelings by putting his trust in Allaah (ﷻ). Whoever puts his trust in Allaah (ﷻ), He will suffice him and he will have no need of anyone or anything else.

May Allāh (ﷻ) make us steadfast on the straight path.

Is It Shirk to Call Upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) After His Death?

The Prophet (peace be upon him) Teaches Us to Only Call Upon Allah

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.

The peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

The scholars of the Standing Committee said:

Calling upon the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and seeking his help after his death to meet one’s needs or relieve one of distress is major shirk that puts one beyond the pale of Islam.

End quote from Fataawa al-Lajnah ad-Daa’imah (1/473)

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Calling upon the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) or any lesser person is shirk and misguidance, because these people cannot respond. What one must do is repent to Allah from this shirk and not call upon anyone except Allah. We all know that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) himself did not possess any power to bring benefit or cause harm, except by the will of Allah.

Allah, may He be exalted, instructed him to declare that to his ummah, as Allah said to him (interpretation of the meaning):

“Say (O Muhammad blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): ‘I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tidings unto people who believe”

[al-A‘raaf 7:188]

We ask Allah to make us among those who only call upon Him and seek help from Him.

We ask Him to forgive us for any shirk that we may have committed, knowingly or unknowingly.

We ask Him to guide us to the straight path and to keep us steadfast in our faith.

Ameen.

Is a Muslim who falls into major Shirk out of ignorance to be called a Mushrik

Is a Muslim who falls into major Shirk out of ignorance to be called a Mushrik...

بســـم اللــه الرحــمــن الـرحـــيــم

◾️Is a Muslim who falls into major Shirk out of ignorance to be called a Mushrik immediately or is it only after establishing the proof on them◾️

Answered by our Shaykh, the 'Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu 'Abdirrahmān Yahya bin 'Ali Al-Hajūri - on the 26th, Shawwaal, 1443H

📥Question:
If we see a Muslim man doing major Shirk, but he's ignorant of this action being that he is new to the religion of Islaam or grew up in the nomadic region so the proof was not established upon him. What do we say? Do we expel him from the religion of Islaam and pronounce him to be a Mushrik and treat him as a Kaafir before we establish the proof upon him or do we give him excuse of ignorance?

📥Answer:
The Mushrik is a Mushrik. If he does what necessitates the ruling of Shirk being applied to him, he is ruled with it. And if he does Shirk it is ruled upon him with it, and his end result is to Allaah. But for us is what is apparent from his actions and statements. People are not held to account except for what is apparent. The hearts are not inspected as in the Hadith of 'Usaamah and as 'Umar may Allaah be pleased with him said.

So whoever outwardly shows good we judge him according to what is apparent, and his end result of his affairs is with Allaah. If he is excused, if it as such that the proof did not reach him, that is something else, as for whoever dies upon Shirk, it is ruled upon him according to what he died upon.

WHY THE NEED TO ASK OTHER THAN ALLAAH WHEN WE CAN CALL ALLAAH

WHY THE NEED TO ASK OTHER THAN ALLAAH WHEN WE CAN CALL ALLAAH DIRECTLY?

In his talk that asking the dead or asking other than Allaah is not Shirk, Yaser Qaadhi forgot one simple Aayah, which he and everyone reads at least 17 times a day in their Obligatory prayers:

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ

{(O Allaah!) You (alone) we worship, and You we ask for help}
📚 [Surah al-Faatihah (1): 5]

⚡Then YQ added another twist, he's comparing calling/supplicating the dead same as him asking his son (who is alive) for help. He's comparing the dead with the living! He's comparing mangoes and apples!

{Nor are (alike) the living (believers) and the dead (disbelievers). Verily, Allah makes whom He will hear, but you cannot make hear those who are in graves.}
📚 [Surah Faatir (35):22]

👉While seeking help from someone, always remember two things:

1️⃣ the person you are calling to should be present (someone who is alive and can hear you).
2️⃣ he should have the ability to do what you are asking.

❌ So with this perspective in mind, remember that it is wrong to say to ask the dead because they cannot hear and they cannot do anything for you.

✅ No one can make your life pleasurable except Allaah تعالى, no one can bestow favors upon you except Allaah, and no human being can help you without Allaah's permission.

♻️ If ever, the dead are in need of our supplication and help. They are in need of us asking Allaah to forgive them and have mercy on them. There are so many Ahaadeeth on this.

Understand the Tawheed which has been described in the Quran

Understand the Tawheed which has been described in the Quran

Ibn al-Jawzī - may Allāh have mercy on him - said:

“Correct your understanding of the Qur’ān.

 ﴾Fitnah is worse than killing.﴿

Fitnah means shirk(Polytheism) and not dispute and arguing.”

The root cause of most Shirk since the beginning of time

The root cause of most Shirk since the beginning of time

Major Sin In Islam:

The root cause of most Shirk since the beginning of time has always been veneration of created beings (Prophets/Saints/Angels) and their deification.

Thus you see uncanny resemblances between the beliefs, rituals and rites of past and present Mushrikeen.

One of which is that Mushrikeen assign for each of their deities a day of celebration in which offerings and ceremonial vows are made to that deity in particular and its blessings are sought.

Just like Hindus have their Vasant Panchami (in honor of goddess: Sarawasti), Maha Shivaratri (Shiva), Hanuman Jayanti (Hunuman), Krishnashtami (Krishna), Radhashtami (Radha), etc.

Grave worshipers have the Urs of their respective deities, Ganj Baksh has his Urs, and similarly Ganj Shakar has his Urs when the Jannati Darwaza is opened, while Ghaus-e-Azam has his Giyarwheen Shareef, etc.

What is even more uncanny is that Hindus have their own Giyarwheen Shareef, celebrated on the eleventh of each lunar month. It is called Ekadashi (Ek=one, Dash=ten, i.e. eleven).

It is in honor of one their greatest deities, Vishnu, just like Giyarwheen Shareef is in honor of the greatest of deities of the saint worshipers, Abdul Qadir, aka Ghaus-e-Azam!

أَتَوَاصَوْا بِهِ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ

Did they recommend it to one another? Rather, they are transgressing nations! [51: 53]

i.e. transgression and exceeding limits has led all those different nations in different eras to arrive at similar forms of Kufr!

SULTAN WHO DESTROYED THE GREATEST IDOL | | Shirk in Islam | Islamic History

SULTAN WHO DESTROYED THE GREATEST IDOL

Mahmud Ghaznavi history in islam

Mahmoud Bin Sabuktigin also known as Mahmoud Ghaznavi (971 AD - 1030 CE)

It is said that his conquests are equal to the size of the conquests of Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)

He was famous for his zuhd (asceticism), piety, justice love for fighting in the way of Allah.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said about him:

"The Sultanate of Mahmoud bin Sabuktigin was one of the best Sultanate of Islam and Sunnah in his kingdom was dearest. He fought against the polytheists from the people of India and spread justice (in India). The Sunnah in his reign was apparent and Bida' (innovations) was suppressed."

Many battles occurred between Mahmoud Ghaznavi and the Hindus in which he won outstandingly but the most famous of these battles is the Battle of Somnath.

Mahmoud Ghaznavi invaded some of the Indian villages and destroyed some small idols in order to show Hindus that idols do not benefit them or defend them!

Some of the great Hindus said that the idols were destroyed because the older idol Somnath was angry with them. When Sultan Mahmoud Ghaznavi heard the story of the largest idol he decided to destroy it to refute these myths. So he prepared his army and left just like an arrow leaves from a bow.

Mahmoud Ghaznavi surprised them and pounced upon them just like a lion crushes its prey, and the Hindus dug in to defend their alleged idol, but all in ruin. Sultan Mahmoud gave them a huge defeat.

So when he was about to destroy the Somnath idol, some Hindus offered Sultan Mahmoud lots of amwaal (money/treasure) so that he may leave this idol (i.e. Somnath). And some of his men advised him to take these things and leave the idol. The great Sultan rose up, saying: Do you want me to be called on the Day of Resurrection: Where is Mahmoud who left the idol being worshiped without Allah? No, by Allah, this will never happen. Then He quickly took his sword and smashed the idol, and destroyed this false religion with it!

In another narration,

After he was offered money and treasures, He (Mahmoud) said, Let me do the Istakhara (an act of seeking guidance in forming a decision) with Allah. When the morning came he said, I have thought about it in this matter. I have seen that I love to be called on the day of Judgment: Where is Mahmoud the destroyer of idol? rather than to be called where is the one who left the idol for this world Then he destroyed it.

Thousands of Hindus then embraced the religion of Allah (Islam) in multitudes after they found their alleged gods were not able to defend themselves.

Thus, whoever leaves a thing for Allah, Allah compensates him better than that. Sultan destroyed the idol and rejected the money and refused to keep people upon disbelief, so Allah compensated him more than the treasures and money which was offered to him i.e; he received the rewards of thousands of people who converted to Islam after destroying these false idols.
