Ramadan Series ๐ | Hastening to Break the Fast and Delaying the Predawn Meal
If the only thing [to be said] about hastening to break the fast and delaying the Sahur was that it is purely a display of following the Messenger and responding to his command, and that it is a great act of worship through which to draw near to Allah, then this would be sufficient as a reason to preserve this and not neglect it.
Verily, this is the only way to attain the love of Allah, as He, the Most High, said:
“Say, ‘If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’”
[Al Imran: 31]
He ุตูู ุงููู ุนููู ูุณูู said:
“Three things are from the manners of the Prophets:
Hastening to break the fast, delaying the Sahur, and placing the right hand upon the left in prayer.
Mentioned by al-Haytham l in Majtna' al-Zawa’id (2/105), and he referenced it to al-Tabaran l in al-Kabir.
