Place the words of the one you love in the mouth of the one you hate

Beautiful Advice 

"Place the words of the one you love in the mouth of the one you hate, and the words of the one you hate in the mouth of the one you love, then look at your excuse for the one you hate and your reproach for the one you love. 

If you do this, you practice impartiality, and judge with honesty.

How difficult this is for the self! 

Except for those whom Allah has guided to speak and withhold, and to love and hate for Allah’s sake, completing thereby the handholds of faith."

ضع كلام من تحب على لسان من تبغض، وكلام من تبغض على لسان من تحب، ثم انظر في إعذارك للمبغض، ومؤاخذتك للمحب.

‏فإن فعلت ذلك وقفت بتجرد، وحكمت بصدق.

‏وما أصعب ذلك على النفوس

‏إلا من وفقه الله أن يقول لله، ويمنع لله، ويحب ويبغض في الله، فيستكمل 

بذلك عرى الإيمان.
