Story of a prostitute who was about to get stoned
A prostitute was about to get stoned [ رجم ] and she cried saying: ‘𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘩𝘶𝘳𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘮 𝘐 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘦.’
This is why [according to the Bible], when people brought only a woman to Jesus - with no sign of the man - they demanddd that she be stoned according to the Torah - Jesus said to them: ‘𝗛𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿.’ [John 8:7].
In many cultures, these double standards exist unfortunately.
The men get away with almost anything. They can visit prostitutes, meet girls, indulge in drugs and commit crimes etc.
Whatever they do, people say: he’s a boy!!
But when a girl commits a sin, it’s like she shamed the entire family and they all go crazy on her!
Islamically both genders are equal in crime, God mentions both genders equally when it talks about punishments:
والسارق والسارقة
الزانية والزاني
