Does one who abandons the prayer have to renew his Shahaadah if he starts praying

Answered by our Shaykh, the 'Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu 'Abdirrahmān Yahya bin 'Ali Al-Hajūri - may Allāh preserve him - on the 6th, Muharram, 1443H

The one who abandons the prayer, if he repents does his repentance suffice or must he pronounce the Shahaadah?

📥Answer:

His repentance suffices, if he abandons the prayer then he prays, enters in Salaah; because he took his Shahaadah before, so he returned to what he was upon, so if he prays, it suffices, it's not must to say to him pronounce the Shahaadah..... Til the End.____
