Does the husband have the right to prevent his working wife from going out to work in order for her to stay at home

Does the husband have the right to prevent his working wife from going out to work in order for her to stay at home and look after the kids - if he provides for her?

Question:
I am a teacher and I have married a teacher four years ago. We have had a child and during this period, we have lived in troubles because of her family, relatives and friends. I see no way out except preventing her from work; is it permissible for me to do so?

Answered by Sheikh Ibn Bāz -raḥimahullāh-
It is permissible for you to prevent your wife from work and to tell her to stay at home to raise your children and take care of your matters. She has no right to work outside the home except with your permission and satisfaction if she takes care of the household because you are her guardian, as mentioned in Sūrah Al-Nisā’ [34]:

{ٱلرِّجَالُ قَوَّ ٰمُونَ عَلَى ٱلنِّسَاۤءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ اللهُ بَعۡضَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضࣲ وَبِمَاۤ أَنفَقُوا۟ مِنۡ أَمۡوَ ٰلِهِمۡ}

“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allâh has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means..“
