PROPHET: HUD (عليه السلام)

PART: 10

MIGHTIER THAN THEIR MIGHT.

It destroyed their palaces and high landmarks. As they boasted of their strength and power and said: ‘Who is mightier than us?’ Allah imposed upon them something which was mightier than their might, and it was this barren wind.

It is also probable that this wind stirred up some cloud at the end of that punishment an those who still remained alive, thought it as being a cloud of mercy, and were destroyed by it. More than one kind of punishment could be inflicted upon a people, as it happened in the case of the people of Madian.

THE FEAR OF PROPHET ﷺ WHEN THE SKY COVERED

It is narrated from Aishah رضي الله عنهاwho said: Whenever wind blew, the Prophet ﷺ said: “O Allah! I ask You its good, and the goodness which it carried, and the goodness with which it is sent. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, and the evil which it carried, and the evil with which it is sent. She says further: Whenever the sky covered, his face would change, he would enter and go out (of the house) and he would pace up and down. If it rained, he would become happy. Aisha رضي الله عنها asked him once about this, and he said: It could be what Aad have faced: “Then, when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said: This is a cloud that shall give us rain.” (46:24),

DUA UPON STRONG WIND

TRANSLATION: O Allah, I ask You for it’s goodness, the good within it, and the good it was sent with,

And I seek refuge with You from it’s evil, the evil within it, and from the evil it was sent with.
