Ramadan Series 🌙 | The Virtue of Maintaining the Masjid

Allah the Exalted said: 

The masjid of Allah are only maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, establish the prayer, give zakah, and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. 

[Surah at-Tawbah 9:18] 

He connected them to Himself as a way of honor and nobility, as they are the noblest of places and the most beloved places to Allah the Exalted.

Maintaining the masjid is of two categories: 

1) To maintain the masjid with clay and building materials; and this is not the goal, but rather a means to the goal. 

2) This category is the actual goal, and it is to maintain the masjid by obedience and remembrance of Allah.

Building masjid is from the greatest actions if the intention is good and sincere. And it is a means, and the goal is the remembrance of Allah the Exalted, worshiping Him therein, and to give the worshipers a safe haven to pray away from the heat, cold, and rain so they will have tranquility in their prayer and worship. This place is for the worship of Allah, teaching beneficial actions, beneficial lessons, establishing the prayer, and paying the zakah, and so it can be a radiant light in the land and in that part of the city.
