Story of PROPHET: ADAM (عليه السلام) PART 21
الإمام ابن كثير - قصص الأنبياء
PROPHET: ADAM (عليه السلام)
PART: 21
THE STORY OF CAIN (QABIL) AND ABEL (HABIL) TWO SONS OF ADAM-3
THE SIN OF MURDER
The Prophet ﷺ Said in a Hadith: “When two Muslims confront each other with their swords, then the murderer and the murdered are both in Hell.” The Companions asked him “O Messenger of Allah! That was a murderer, but what about the victim (murdered)?” The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Said: “Because he was also keen to kill the other man.”
THE TRANSFER OF SINS
The verse: "Verily, I intend to let you draw my sin on yourself as well as yours, then you will be one of the dwellers of the Fire, and that is the recompense of the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers)."
(5:29)
means: I intend to avoid fighting you, though I am stronger than you. I am determined to do this, so that you will bear the sin of my murder along with your previous sins.
It does not mean, in any case, that the sins of a murder victim transfer automatically into the account of the murderer, as some people may think.
Yes, it may happen with some people on the Day of Judgement that when the good deeds of the murderer could not recompense for the crime of the murder he had committed, the murder victim may demand that his sins should be transferred to the murderer. That will happen in all cases of crime and injustice one had committed against anyone in this world, as has been confirmed in the authentic Hadith.
KEEPING AWAY FROM FITNAH
Narrated Sa’d bin Abu Waqqas, that he said at the time of the turmoil which took place at the end of Caliph Uthman bin Affan’s Caliphate: I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Said: There will be turmoil (FITNAH) very soon. The one who sat down from it will be better than the one who is standing. And the one who is standing will be better than one who is walking. And the one who is walking will be better than one who is running.
He Said: Tell me what shall I do if someone enters my home and wants to kill me?
He replied: Be like the son of Adam.
In another version of this Hadith he Said:
“Be like the best of the two of Adam’s sons.”
Another Hadith Says:
“No soul is killed unjustly but the first son of Adam bears a part of that sin. Because he was the first to initiate this tradition of killing.”
THE PUNISHMENT OF CAIN
Mujahid says that the chastisement of Cain was brought forward the day he killed his brother. His shanks were joined against his thighs. His face was turned towards the sun wherever he went, as a punishment for his sin and transgression against his brother from the same (two) parents.
