How to avoid the torment of the grave Insha'Allah

● The torment of the grave is a reality that may happen to sinners among those who affirm the oneness of Allah. It is proved by the Quran and the Sunnah.

●The torment of the grave may be stopped by virtue of supplication (du‘aa’), charity, prayers for forgiveness or the reward for Hajj (if these actions are performed by relatives or others after their death).

●The Prophet Mu'hammad ﷺ taught us a dua to seek refuge from the torment of the grave and the torment of Hell, and from the trials of living and dead people and from the evil of the tribulation of the Dajjal. The dua is:

‏> اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَمِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ

> O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and from the punishment of Hell-fire, and from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the trial of the False Messiah.

●We should also avoid committing sins that may cause the torment of the grave, such as lying, backbiting, spreading false rumors, not protecting oneself from urine, associating partners with Allah, rejecting faith, etc.

●We should also increase our good deeds that may protect us from the torment of the grave, such as reciting Surah al-Mulk every night, following the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, being kind to others, seeking Allah's forgiveness, etc.

●May Allah protect us all from the torment of the grave and grant us Paradise. Ameen
