What is Kushuu in Salah revised Episode 6

AL–KHUSHUU’ IN SALAAH (REVISED)

*EPISODE 6 - ACTIONS BEFORE SALAAH THAT COULD HELP ATTAIN KHUSHUU'*
➖ ➖ ➖

*🕌 1. Seeking Religion Knowledge*

Understanding the religion helps one focus on the intended meaning and importance of Salaah, and knows how to pray. Allaah (ﷻ) says:

*... إِنَّمَا يَخۡشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِ ٱلۡعُلَمَٰٓؤُا*

*”It is only the learned amongst His servants who truly fear Allaah”*

[Fatir 35:28]

Mu'awiyah (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
*_"When Allaah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of Deen."_*

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim,
Jami at-Tirmidhi 2645]

Narrated Abu Hurairah:
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him."

[Jami at-Tirmidhi 2646]

*Ibn Rajab (رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ) said:*
“Knowledge is not memorizing many narrations or sayings, but rather it is a light that Allaah places in the heart by which a servant understands the truth and he distinguishes it from falsehood.”

[Fad‌l ‘Ilm al-Salaf 1/5].

*🕌 2. Avoiding Major and Minor Sins*

Avoiding major and minor sins are very helpful in gaining Khushuu’, as the heart becomes more receptive to the words of Allaah (ﷻ) during and after salaah. Allaah (ﷻ) says:

*”They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice - those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided”*

[Al-An’am: 6:82].

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah(رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
*_“When the believer commits sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he repents and gives up that sin and seeks forgiveness, his heart will be polished. But if (the sin) increases, (the black spot) increases. That is the Ran that Allaah mentions in His Book: “Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.” (Al-Mutaffifin 83:14)._*

[Ibn Maajah Vol. 5, Book 37, H 4244].

It was narrated from Anas (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said:
*_“Every son of Adam commits sin, and the best of those who commit sin are those who repent.”_*

[Ibn Maajah Vol. 5, Book 37, H 4251]

This last hadith indicates that it might be part of human creation that we are forgetful and commit sins (minor sins), nevertheless, the believers are those who are fearful of these sins and thus repent to Allaah (ﷻ) and Allaah is Oft-Forgiven.
