Biography of the UMM SALIM
was from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ.
Her son Salim was the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah.
Her son is mentioned in the statement of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ:
خُذُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَسَالِمٍ وَمُعَادٍ وَأُبَيِّ
Learn the Qur'an from four people: 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Salim, Mu'adh bin Jabal, and Ubayy bin Ka'b.
Salim carried the flag during the Battle of Yamamah.
When his right arm was cut off, he carried the flag with his left hand, when his left arm was cut off, he carried it with his neck until he was killed.
'Abdullah bin Shaddad said,
"Umar gave Umm Salim the inheritance for her son when he was killed during the Battle of Yamamah."
