The Often-Overlooked Moment: The Power of Sitting After Prayer
Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Bāz رحمه الله mentioned:The sitting after the taslīm in the prescribed prayers is from the most important times, in which the mercy of Allāh descends (upon his slaves). Do not hastily get up, rather seek forgiveness from Allāh, glorify Him, praise Him, and magnify Him.
Ibn Baṭṭal رحمه الله said:
Whoever has many sins and desires that Allāh remove these sins from him without burdening himself, then let him seize this opportunity and remain seated in his place after the prayer, so that he may take advantage of the supplications from the Angels and their asking forgiveness for him.

The wisdom behind Islamic practices is profound. Often, seemingly simple actions hold immense spiritual significance. Such is the case with sitting after taslim (greetings) in the prescribed prayers. This short period, as Shaykh Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) reminds us, is a prime time for receiving Allah's (SWT) mercy.
The Often-Overlooked Moment: The Power of Sitting After Prayer
Many rush out of prayer as soon as the final taslim is complete. However, this brief moment of sitting holds immense value. Ibn Battal (may Allah have mercy on him) emphasizes this by urging believers to seize this opportunity.
Mercy Descends: Don't Miss the Opportunity for Forgiveness
This quiet time after prayer is a window for supplication. It's a chance to seek Allah's (SWT) forgiveness, glorify Him, and express our gratitude. As Ibn Battal suggests, this is a time when the angels may intercede for us, further amplifying the power of our du'a (supplications).
