Abu Dāwūd about the gatherings of Imām Ahmad ibn Hambal
In the gathering of a scholar:
Abu Dāwūd, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him], said:
“The gatherings of [al-Imām] Ahmad ibn Hambal, [may Allāh bestow mercy upon him], were gatherings of the Afterlife, in which no matters pertaining to this worldly-life were mentioned. I have not ever seen him mention this worldly-life.”
