بســـم اللــه الرحــمــن الـرحـــيــمAnswered by our Shaykh, the 'Allāmah, the Trustworthy Advisor, Abu 'Abdirrahman Yahya bin 'Ali Al-Hajūri - may Allāh preserve him - on the 22nd, Dhūl-Qa'dah, 1441H
📥Question:
Is it allowed to say for example Ibrāhīm SallAllāhu Alayhi wa Sallam or Alayhisalām or Alayhis Salātu was Salām?
📤Answer:
Either is said, Ibrāhīm SallAllāhu Alayhi wa Sallam, or Alayhis Salātu was-Sallām, and what is more preferred is to combine between Salāt and Salām in regards to Ibrāhīm and the rest of the Prophets
"Allāh sends His Salat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet (Muhammad ﷺ) and also His angels too (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad ﷺ), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. AsSalamu 'Alaikum)."
[Al-Ahzāb, 56]
(لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّن رُّسُلِه)ِ
"We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers"
[Al-Baqarah, 285]
So there is no distinction between the Prophets.
That this one it is said for him SallAllāhu Alayhi was-Sallam and the other Alayhi Assalātu was-Sallām.
Rather all of them Salāt are sent upon, may the Salawāt of Allah and His Salām be upon them all.
