Tips for the preparation of the blessed month of Ramadan

Tips for the preparation of the blessed month of Ramadan

As the blessed month of Ramadan is fast approaching, Here are a few tips on preparing for the blessed month

☑️ Your Niyyāh (Intention) -

Set ur intention to observe all Ramadan purely for the sake of Allāh عزوجل and to see His forgiveness. The prophet ﷺ said, “Actions are but by intention, and every man shall have but that which he intended.”

(Bukhari & Muslim)

☑️ Fasting - Make ur self familiar with the rules of fasting, including what is of the sunnah & that which is allowed during fasting & also that which is prohibited during fasting.

The Qur’an states, “O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before, that may become righteous.” (2:183)

☑️ The Qur’an - Read & really acknowledge the meaning of the Qur’an especially during the nights of Ramadan, as this is a time of increased blessings. The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best among you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.”

(Bukhari)

☑️ Seek Ajr from good deeds

Increase ur good deeds & righteous actions during Ramadan, as this is a time period of increased blessings.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened….. and the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained." (Bukhari 1899)

☑️ Patience and forbearance

Cultivate patience & forbearance, especially during the difficulties of fasting, as this is a time of spiritual growth. The Qur'an states, "O you who believe, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient." (2:153)

☑️ Charity - Increase ur acts of charity and generosity during Ramadan, as it is a time of increased blessings. The Qur'an states "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allāh is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allāh multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allāh is all-Encompassing and Knowing."(Al-Baqarah:261)

Giving for the sake of Allāh عزوجل will never decrease ur wealth. Make the intention to help feed those souls who need our help the most.

إِنْ شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ I hope by implementing these few basic tips you & I can incorporate this into our lives now to help us prepare for the blessed month of Ramadan in a meaningful and productive way
