Greeting Particular People and the Spread of Commerce
One of the signs of the Hour which the Chosen One صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم told us about is for the man only to greet those whom he knows and to leave greeting other people which is the opposite of the Sunnah which necessitates greeting all people whether you know them or you do not know them.
It was related from 'Abdullāh
Ibn Mas'ūd رضي الله عنه that he said: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "There is before the Hour the greeting of particular people, the spread of commerce to the extent that the woman would aid her husband to buy and sell, the severance of family ties, false testimony, the concealment of the testimony of truth, and the appearance of the pen."
