Overcoming Burnout and Mental Weakness in Islam
It is Like Taking Alcohol.Your phone is your biggest enemy when fighting burnout or mental weakness.
When you've been down for long, you need to throw away your phone to find energy and clarity.
Imagine a man who lost his job and then starts spending a lot of time at the bar drinking alcohol.
When he eventually becomes sober, will he be happier or even more depressed?
He will feel more depressed and even less motivated to look for a new job, and soon he will start visiting the bar daily and become an addict.
That is the story of a lot of men on the streets today.
And that is exactly what you're becoming too, only that your addiction is to a different thing.
It is exactly what you are becoming when you feel mentally down and burnt out and then you pick up your phone to start scrolling through statuses and social media posts or watching comedy.
You are suppressing and distracting yourself from your problem for a while, but when you eventually drop your phone, it will come out worse and stronger.
You are a productive Muslim, face your problem, and overcome it, don't suppress and run away from it.
