RAYHANAH BINT ZAYD (رضي الله عنها)
Rayhanah was a member of the Jewish tribe Banu Nadir.
She was taken captive during the war but refused any religion other than Judaism.
One day, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with his Companions, he heard behind him the footsteps of Tha'labah bin Sa'yah.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is Tha'labah bin Sa'yah coming to bring the glad news that Rayhanah has embraced Islam."
Tha'labah gave the good news and the Prophet ﷺ offered to free her, marry her, and give her the hijab to adorn. Rayhanah responded by saying,
"No, O Messenger of Allah rather, leaving me as a maidservant is easier for me and easier for you.”
Her Death:
Rayhanah bint Zayd died 16 years before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
End...
