The Healthy Heart in Islam: How to Achieve It

What is the Healthy Heart in Islam?

The Healthy Heart 🤍

"Whenever the heart becomes healthy from its sickness, it shifts to the hereafter and gets closer to it, until it becomes from its people.

Whenever the heart becomes sick and ill, it prefers the Dunya and it makes it its settlement and it becomes from its people.

🫀And the healthy heart: is the one whose entire concern is for Allāh, and whose love is entirely for Him, its intention is for Him, its body is for Him, its deeds are for Him, its sleep is for Him, its waking up is for Him, and its speech and conversation about Him are more pleasant to it than all speech, and its thoughts hover over what pleases Him and what is likes, and solitude with Him is more preferable to it than mixing, except when mixing is more beloved and pleasing to Him, its comfort of the eyes is with Him, its satisfaction and its tranquility is with Him.

📌 Therefore, whenever it finds that it turns towards other than Him, this is recited upon it:

{يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفۡسُ ٱلۡمُطۡمَئِنَّةُ }
{ٱرۡجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرۡضِيَّةً}

“[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,”
“Return to your Rabb, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],”
[Sūrah al-Fajr, Āyahs 27-28]
