Greatest authentic hadith on the virtues of deeds

Friday reminder:

Jumu'ah is most people's favourite day of the week; the evil doers yearn for it to satisfy their desires while the good doers long for it to please The Almighty.

The following is an abridged translation of a benefit transmitted by Sheikh Faysal Al-Hashidi May Allah preserve him

Do you want the reward of fasting & praying hundreds of years in just a few minutes?!

If so, read the greatest authentic hadith on the virtues of deeds; a hadeeth which the people of knowledge said about it: “We do not know a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ more rewarding than this hadith.” 

Imam At-Tirmidhi rahimahullah said: “Some of the Imams said, we have not heard a Saheeh Hadeeth in the Shari’ah that includes such a reward.”

Ibnul Hajar Al-Haythami May Allah have mercy on him said:

 “It was said there is nothing authentic in the Sunnah than contains more reward than this, so let one pay attention to it.”

Here's the Hadeeth:

On the authority of Aws ibn Aws Ath-Thaqafi (radhiyallahu anhu) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 

«مَنْ غَسَلَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاغْتَسَلَ، ثُمَّ بَكَّرَ وَابْتَكَرَ، وَمَشَى وَلَمْ يَرْكَبْ، وَدَنَا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَاسْتَمَعَ وَلَمْ يَلْغُ كَانَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ عَمَلُ سَنَةٍ أَجْرُ صِيَامِهَا وَقِيَامِهَا» 

“Whoever takes a complete bath on Friday then goes very early to the Khutbah, walking and not riding, sits close to the Imam, listens and does not speak or keep himself busy then for every step is the reward equivalent to a year of fasting and praying.”
