Du’a when Someone Unjustly Witholds Your Rights, Oppresses You, Harms You

Du’a when Someone Unjustly Witholds Your Rights, Oppresses You, Harms You, Causes Pain or Difficulty for You —

From Tafseer of Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah) -

al-Hasan al-Basri (rahimahullah) commented:

One should not invoke Allah against whoever wronged him.

Rather, he should supplicate (and say),

اللهم أعني عليه و استخرج حقى منه

Allahumma Aa-‘Innee Alayh wa Astakhrij Haqqa Minhh

O Allah! Help me over/against him and take my right from him

In another narration, al-Hasan (rahimahullah) said:

Allah has allowed (every)one to invoke Him against whoever wronged him without transgressing the limits.

[Tafseer Ibn Kathir (rahimahullah), Surah An-Nisa, Ayah 148]
