Biography of the Sahabiyat name starting with the word DAL - د
• DUBYAH bint Thabit bin Khalid was the wife of Yazid bin Thabit bin ad-Dahhak and thus the sister-in-law of Zayd bin Thabit bin ad-Dahhak, the personal scribe of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
She accepted Islam and gave the pledge.
• DIJAJAH bint Asma' as-Salt was one of five wives married to 'Umayr at the same time.
Thus, he was ordered to divorce one of them, and he divorced Dijajah.
She then married 'Uthman bin 'Affan's maternal uncle, 'Amir bin Kurayz, who was the brother of 'Uthman's mother Arwa bint Kurayz.
She gave birth to 'Abdullah bin 'Amir, who would later become a distinguished military general.
• DURRAH bint Abi Sufyan is the sister of the Prophet's wife Umm Habibah Ramlah bint Abi Sufyan.
She is her sister intended in the hadith collected in Sahih al-Bukhari.
Umm Habibah said:
"O Messenger of Allah, marry my sister, the daughter of Abu Sufyan."
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Would you like that?"
I replied, "Yes, for even now I am not your only wife, and I like that my sister should share the good with me."
The Prophet ﷺ said, "But that is not lawful for me."
[Sahih al Bukhari 5101]
• DURRAH bint Abi Salamah is the stepdaughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
She is the other woman referred to in the previous hadith of Umm Habibah.
Umm Habibah said:
I said, "We have heard that you want to marry the daughter of Abu Salamah."
He ﷺ said, "(You mean) the daughter of Umm Salamah?"
I said, "Yes."
He ﷺ said, "Even if she were not my stepdaughter, she would be unlawful for me to marry, as she is my foster niece.
I and Abu Salamah were suckled by Thuwaybah.
So you should not present to me your daughters or your sisters (in marriage)."
