Awn ibn ‘Abdillāh used to place his hand under his beard
It is narrated on the authority of al-Mas’ūdī who said:
“‘Awn ibn ‘Abdillāh used to place his hand under his beard and then bend it towards his face then look at it and cry. He would say: ‘My Lord! Have mercy on my white hairs.’”
